Therese Johaug is also opting out of the competitions.
"We are in a period where athletes vary between competition and training, all to optimize ahead of the World Championship in Trondheim", says national team manager Ulf Morten Aune in a statement.
After the World Cup in Italy, January 31-February 2, competitions in Falun, February 14-16, await, before it's time for the World Championship on February 26.
