He won the sprint and mass start over 20 kilometers in Engadin last weekend.
But Norwegian star Johannes Høsflot Klæbo will not compete in Italy, when the World Cup is held in Cogne.
The 28-year-old chooses to prioritize training.
Therese Johaug is also opting out of the competitions.
"We are in a period where athletes vary between competition and training, all to optimize ahead of the World Championship in Trondheim", says national team manager Ulf Morten Aune in a statement.
After the World Cup in Italy, January 31-February 2, competitions in Falun, February 14-16, await, before it's time for the World Championship on February 26.
