The Shah's Son Says the Regime Ends Up in the Dustbin of History

Reza Pahlavi has been suggested in some circles as a possible interim leader in Iran if the regime falls, but he is also a controversial figure. He has said he is ready to return to Iran to lead a possible transitional government.

"To the military, security forces and police - all attempts to support a collapsing regime are doomed to failure," he further writes on X.

The Shah of Iran was overthrown in 1979 after ruling the country with an iron fist. Reza Pahlavi has lived in exile ever since.
