It's for the first time that Hammarby's women are clear for European Championship games.
And it's the first time that the 10th-ranked Benfica doesn't make it to the group stage in Champions League.
The elimination of the 91st-ranked Swedish team – with two Norwegian goal scorers.
This after a turnaround from 1–2 in the home game at Tele2 arena in Stockholm to 2–0 in the away game in Lisbon.
"Had everything to win"
The match hero became the Norwegian newcomer Cathinka Tandberg, who five minutes into extra time made it 2–1 after a pass from Emelie-Marie Joramo.
It was a tough match. We came here after a loss and had everything to win. We had a lot of good energy and knew we would need to fight and we did that the whole match, says Tandberg in Aftonbladet's broadcast.
But it started with a replay:
A week ago, Julie Blakstad scored 1–0 in the 16th minute. In the return match in Portugal, Blakstad scored 1–0 – in the 16th minute – which gave Hammarby a 2–2 total score against the Portuguese.
Vilde Hasund served the ball to her Norwegian countrywoman and Blakstad shot with her left foot into the goal at the far post.
Hotter second half
There were no more goals during regular time. In the fifth minute, of the six added, Tandberg decided the match.
It was a bit chill in the first half, the second was hotter since both teams were chasing goals. It's about scoring goals and we did, says the match hero.
