The season is over for former Luleå player Nils Lundkvist, now in the NHL with Dallas.

On Saturday, the club announced that Lundkvist needs to undergo surgery for a shoulder injury and that he will not play anymore this season, according to the league's website nhl.com.

24-year-old Lundkvist gets a replacement as Dallas acquires Cody Ceci, also a right-handed defenseman, from San Jose. From the same club, Dallas also brings in Finnish player Mikael Granlund, who will play in the Four Nations tournament for Finland soon.
