Weekend debates and an extraordinary summer session of parliament are needed to ensure that all the bills presented by the government have time to be debated and voted on before the autumn.
On Saturday, stricter penalties will be debated, and on Sunday, among other things, the conduct requirements for residence permits will be debated.
It is rare for debates to be held on a weekend. According to information from the Riksdag, the last time this happened was in April 2023.
At that time, the government sought to pass an urgent decision to evacuate Swedes from Sudan following the outbreak of the civil war.
