Robert Gustafsson plays the lead role when Jonas Karlsson's book "The Rain Man" is being filmed.
The novel was published in 2019 and is about the grumpy Ingmar, who spends a lot of time taking care of his deceased wife's roses, and has started to lose his relationship with his daughter. The role of Ingmar's annoying neighbor Burman is played by Jonas Karlsson himself.
The director and screenwriter Hannes Holm is behind the direction. He is behind acclaimed films such as "A Man Called Ove", "Ted – For the Sake of Love" and "The Sky is Innocent Blue". Together with Jonas Karlsson, he has written the film's script.
"I want to make a touching film that will balance between humor and drama. Told with love and warmth. Like a good film should be", says Holm in a press release.
"The Rain Man" is expected to have its cinema premiere in July 2025.
