To reach SHL is clearly a goal in my thoughts, says Johansson to Aftonbladet.
The 54-year-old Johansson was sports manager when Skellefteå took two Swedish Championship gold medals in 2013 and 2014, and a total of six consecutive Swedish Championship finals from 2011 to 2016. After that, he has had various roles in Switzerland and Russia, and also had a shorter stint as assistant coach in Rögle.
"With his competence and experience, Lasse will be an extremely important key person in the journey for long-term success that AIK Hockey has begun", says AIK's CEO and club director Stefan Gustavsson to the club's website.
Lasse Johansson officially replaces Niklas Persson, whose contract as sports manager expires, on March 1. But according to AIK, he "will to some extent start working immediately".
AIK is currently eighth in Hockeyallsvenskan, with three points up to a top six spot. Under new-old coach Roger Melin, the team has nine wins in the last ten matches.
