A supertanker was recently booked to carry oil from the Persian Gulf to India.
The freight price is nine times higher than the normal rate for that route, shipbrokers who asked to remain anonymous told Bloomberg. They said it is the highest shipping fee so far this year.
The background is, among other things, that many shipping companies have taken other routes while the Strait of Hormuz has been closed.
