The American sprinter, who has both silver and bronze in the Olympics and a World Cup gold in the 100 meters, is currently suspended for anti-doping violations after missed whereabouts reports.
With only a few days left until the Enhanced Games, the competition where athletes are free to dope, the 30-year-old says he has not taken any prohibited substances but is taking part for financial reasons because he is suspended from competition.
"If you get fired from your job, wouldn't you look at other ways to make money?" says Kerley, who is suspended until 2027 and whose goal is to compete in the 2028 Olympics.
He says he has been regularly tested for doping in recent months.
