After three weeks in bed, Pope Francis has started physiotherapy on Saturday morning.
He is responding well to treatment and is showing gradual improvement, according to the Vatican.
His situation is stable and he has no fever. He has good oxygen levels in his blood, the Vatican reports.
The Pope has been cared for at the Gemelli hospital in Rome since February 14 for, among other things, bilateral pneumonia. Blood tests have previously also shown signs of "early, mild kidney failure".
