The government's goal of growing the agency by 10,000 employees has been met, according to a report from the Swedish Council for Crime Prevention (Brå).
Most new employees - 90 percent - are civilian employees, a majority of whom work in investigative activities.
Despite this, the total proportion of crimes solved has not increased; it has decreased from 13 to 11 percent.
According to Brå, this may be due to the large number of serious gang crimes, which have required substantial resources.
The number of solved attempted murders, however, has increased, from 245 to 463.
However, the large resource additions should have led to better results in mass crimes such as assault, fraud and theft, says Brå investigator Lina Fjelkegård in a press release.
