It's been over a week since Ella Halvarsson was a guest on Carina Bergfeldt's talk show on SVT. There, entrepreneur and billionaire Josef Fares promised to pay the 25-year-old 300,000 kronor - as much as Halvarsson earned from her World Championship success - which he then did during the makeup break.
It was really a jackpot to be on that talk show. I think it was very fun and exciting to be there. And then for him to be so generous, I absolutely didn't believe it, says Halvarsson.
When she got home from the recording, her partner reacted with surprise at what had happened.
He wondered if it was true. "What do you mean?" he almost said. But then it was anyway and it was very kind.
Halvarsson doesn't have any big plans for the money.
I might buy some new games, I think.
But before she can invest in new games, she'll be competing in this weekend's World Cup in Nove Mesto.
It will also be the first competition since the World Championship, where Halvarsson took silver in the distance race. And the new skiing star has still had time to land after her successes.
Now it feels like you're back to normal. And you're proud of what you've achieved.
The women are running the sprint in Nove Mesto today.
