Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer (M) has invited representatives of the other parliamentary parties to discuss measures against organized crime, reports Ekot on Sveriges Radio.

The talks are to be held on Wednesday morning. One of the issues to be discussed is the possibility of revoking citizenship from gang criminals.

"I hope for as broad a political support as possible, on these and other important issues," Strömmer writes in the invitation, according to Ekot.

The government proposed last week that Swedish citizenship should be revoked from people who commit serious crimes and who have dual citizenship. For this to be possible, the constitution must be amended.

The government also wants to limit freedom of association for criminal groups and constitutionally protect the right to abortion.
