TV4 will not be broadcasting the Oscars ceremony this year. The 97th edition of the film gala will instead be shown on Disney+, on Monday, March 3 at 01:00.
According to TV4, they have weighed the cost against the number of viewers and declined. Disney will broadcast the gala live, with host, author, and comedian Conan O'Brien leading it for the first time.
Votes have been raised to cancel the Oscars ceremony altogether this year after the fires in Los Angeles, but it will go ahead, even though the usual glamour will be toned down after the devastation that has hit the film capital.
