The small club north of the Arctic Circle has taken the Champions League by storm. With victories against Manchester City and Atlético Madrid at the end of the league phase, the team secured one of the play-off places.

They then beat Italian side Inter, last season's finalist, in the round of 32.

The next club to experience the Norwegian club's power in European competition was Sporting Lisbon.

Sondre Brunstad Fet made it 1–0 from the penalty spot just after the half-hour mark at Aspmyra. In first-half stoppage time, Ole Didrik Blomberg coolly extended the lead to 2–0.

The end of the first 45 minutes of the match laid the foundation for a solid and impressive first victory in front of the home crowd.

Now it remains to be seen whether the 3-0 victory - Kasper Høgh scored the final goal in the 71st minute - is also enough to continue playing in the Champions League.

The return leg will be played in Lisbon on March 17. The winner of the Bodø/Glimt and Sporting Lisbon match will face the winner of Leverkusen - Arsenal (1-1) in the quarter-finals.
