The Malaysian men's national football team has been punished by the International Football Association Board (FIFA). Two wins and a draw have been changed to three 0–3 losses after the team used ineligible players.

The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has previously been fined the equivalent of 4.2 million kronor after seven foreign-born players were suspended for using false documents to prove Malaysian origin.

FIFA's disciplinary committee now also announces that the friendly matches against Cape Verde (1–1), Singapore (2–1) and Palestine (1–0) will be ruled as losses, the federation states on its website.

FAM has denied wrongdoing and writes that the association has requested a written justification from FIFA before considering the next step.
