The Moderate Party Criticism: Appalling to Nominate C Gambino

It is "offensive and dangerous" that the murdered rapper C Gambino is nominated for P3 Gold. This is the opinion of Member of Parliament Fredrik Kärrholm (The Moderate Party).

For me, it's just as self-evident that a zero tolerance is needed against this problematic culture as it was self-evident in the 1990s that there was a common zero tolerance against neo-Nazism, he says to Expressen.

C Gambino was shot dead in Gothenburg on June 4 and was nominated in the category Artist of the Year at the P3 Gold Gala in January. The rapper was never convicted of any crime, but according to information to Expressen, the shooting was linked to an ongoing gang conflict.

Kärrholm thinks it's reprehensible that Sveriges Radio promotes that type of artist.

This wouldn't have been a problem if it weren't for the fact that we actually have many children who are influenced by a gangster culture that makes them actively seek out gangs and we have a situation in Sweden where children are murdering each other, he says to Expressen.

The chairman of the P3 Gold jury, Jonas Westman, says to the newspaper that Sveriges Radio has no insight into the investigation of the artist's murder and that the nominations should reflect the music and artists that have made an impact during the year.

He has been nominated for his musical achievement, says Westman.
