The Swedish embassy in South Korea estimates that there may be 800-1,000 Swedes in the country.

They are "urged to carefully follow local media and local authorities' advice, as well as avoid demonstrations and gatherings", writes the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' press service to TT.

"The embassy in Seoul is closely following the developments and updating travel information continuously on Sweden Abroad and in the UD Resklar app."

The Swedes are also urged to sign up on the embassy's Swedish list and download the UD Resklar app.
