Hugo Larsson came into focus last week, after a conflict with national team captain Jon Dahl Tomasson about why the midfielder talent was benched when Sweden met Azerbaijan last Thursday arose.
The national team captain's public statements about Larsson's gameplay shortcomings did not land well with the midfielder, which he emphasized during a press conference.
I told him that I would have liked it to have stayed between us. Some things should stay within the family, he said.
It all ended with Larsson leaving the national team gathering prematurely due to what was described as a "mild injury".
Larsson was already in training with his club team on Tuesday – and now the news comes that the 20-year-old is match-ready for Saturday's meeting with Wolfsburg.
Hugo Larsson is in form and is ready to play. He has developed well during his first year and is on his way to something very good, says Toppmöller.
