Favorites held on – Zelmerlöw and KAJ to the final

Måns Zelmerlöw and the Finnish-Swedish humor group KAJ have secured each a place in the Melodifestivalen final. I'm so relieved, says Zelmerlöw to TT.

Zelmerlöw won Melodifestivalen and the entire Eurovision with the song "Heroes" ten years ago. He has previously said that he has long wanted to return as a competitor and that he has only been waiting for the right opportunity.

He says that the week has been tough, with high expectations from both himself and others.

I have a lot to live up to after "Heroes". Now I'm in the final anyway, I haven't messed up at least, he says.

"Completely overwhelmed"

Zelmerlöw says that they will look at how to handle the confetti in the future.

When it's on, it's incredible, he says.

During Saturday's performance, he had to pick confetti out of his mouth, but it didn't prevent him from delivering on stage. His six-year-old son, who was present in the arena, was incredibly proud, Zelmerlöw tells.

He was completely overwhelmed. Now he's old enough to understand this and he sees how much it means to me.

"Completely magical"

The qualifying round in Malmö has been called "the death group" by the humor group KAJ. All participants have previously told TT that they agree that the competition is extremely tough.

In the end, it was clear that KAJ had managed to go through to the final and secure the second final ticket. The group, which comes from Ostrobothnia in Finland, is already known in their home country and there has been concern about whether they have a chance against already established artists in Sweden.

However, it didn't show in the Malmö arena. The audience stood up and erupted in deafening cheers when they advanced.

It feels completely incredible. What support in the arena and what support from the Swedish people and also in Swedish Finland, it's completely magical, they tell TT.

"Can't understand"

Ella Tiritiello, 18, makes it to the final with the song "Bara du är där". The odds had previously placed her at the bottom, but on Friday she sailed up to third place in the Melodifestivalen club's audience poll.

When it became clear that she would get a second chance, it looked like she almost couldn't believe it. A group of young girls from the audience stayed in the arena and chanted her name in unison – something Tiritiello noticed.

I can't understand anything. People have voted for me. People think what I do is good. I'm so proud of myself.

Directly to the final:

"Revolution" – Måns Zelmerlöw

"Bara bada bastu" – KAJ

To the final qualifying round:

"Bara du är där" – Ella Tiritiello

Eliminated:

"Vicious" – Andreas Lundstedt

"Yours" – Tennessee Tears

"Do good be better" – Amena
