The Medin trial begins in Turkey on May 7. Four days later, Joakim Medin, together with his wife, Sofie Axelsson Medin, publishes the book "Prisoned by Erdogan."

The Swedish journalist was arrested in March 2025 in Turkey, accused of terrorism and insulting President Erdoğan.

In the book, Sofie Axelsson Medin describes the fight to free him, while Joakim Medin depicts the time in the infamous Marmara Prison.

"We reveal details and political blunders that have not been revealed before. We also tell you about what has happened since I returned home, including speculation about Swedish hostage diplomacy behind the release," says Joakim Medin in a press release.

Kerstin Almegård, publisher at Bonniers, emphasizes in the press release that the book, which will be published on May 11, "extends far beyond an individual case."
