The USA is the reigning champion in the Junior World Championship in ice hockey and is the favorite to take gold again, considering that the Junior World Championship is being played on a small rink in Ottawa, Canada this year.
In the quarterfinal, they rolled over Switzerland with 7–2. The score was already 4–1 after the first period and 7–1 after the second.
The semifinals are played on Saturday and the USA may face Finland, the Czech Republic, or Canada.
