The King and Queen send condolences to Switzerland after deadly fire in Crans-Montana

The King and Queen sent condolences to Switzerland after the deadly fire in the Swiss Alps.

"The Queen and I would like to express our deepest condolences for the tragic deaths and those injured in the terrible fire in Crans-Montana. We also want to share our heartfelt condolences with the families of the victims and the people of Switzerland," reads a telegram signed by King Carl Gustaf to Swiss President Guy Parmelin.

Around 40 people are reported to have died in the fire, which occurred in a bar in the ski resort of Crans-Montana in the canton of Valais on New Year's Eve.
