Sweden had no problems winning their second match in the group stage of the Junior World Championship in Canada. Kazakhstan was a bit of a speed bump and the final score was written as 8–1.

It was a nice win. A different team to meet, but we played a good game. The third period is a bit sloppy, but 40 minutes were good, says two-goal scorer Anton Wahlberg to SVT Sport after the match.

The score was 5–0 in favor of Sweden already after the first period, distributed among five different goal scorers: Victor Eklund, David Edstrom, Linus Eriksson, Felix Nilsson, and Anton Wahlberg.

The second period was, in comparison, goal-scarce with only two goals. Anton Wahlberg made it 6–0 just over halfway through the period. With a few minutes left of the same period, Kazakhstan, considered the weakest team in the group, finally scored a goal through Artur Gross.

In the third, Oskar Vuollet made it 7–1 and David Granberg 8–1. Sweden had a total of 52 shots on goal, compared to 16 for Kazakhstan.

In the second match of the group for the day, Slovakia beat Switzerland 2–1.

Sweden plays its third group stage match on December 29, then against Switzerland.
