"All Israeli vessels" that travel within the militant group's reach are now seen as a target, announces the Huthi movement, which has previously also attacked civilian vessels from other countries under similar warnings.
The statement comes after a four-day deadline set by the Iran-backed group for Israel has expired.
Israel imposed a blockade of humanitarian aid to Gaza at the beginning of March, after the first phase of the ceasefire with Hamas expired. The blockade is justified by Israel as putting pressure on Hamas.
The Huthi movement has previously carried out attacks on both warships and civilian shipping, mainly in the Red Sea, citing a desire to show solidarity with Gaza's population.
The attacks, however, have targeted merchant vessels and military vessels from various countries, not just Israel.
