Tanya Simon is leaving "60 Minutes," where she worked for more than three decades. She will be replaced by Nick Bilton, a documentary filmmaker and tech journalist who has never worked in television news, the New York Times reports.
The change is being implemented by Bari Weiss, who was appointed head of the CBS news department last year by parent company Paramount Skydance, CEO David Ellison, an ally of Donald Trump.
Several high-profile figures have left CBS since Bari Weiss took over, and she has in several ways changed the editorial focus, including star reporter Anderson Cooper, who just this week said goodbye to "60 Minutes" after 20 years.
