"It's both sad and frustrating that I can't be there to help the team anymore," she tells the national team's website.
The defensively strong Swede missed the first two matches of the World Cup due to injury, but didn't even have time to play a half before she was injured again.
National team doctor Örjan Johannesson:
"The previous injury was healed, but when she was about to push off in a situation yesterday, she felt a crack under her heel. We have reviewed the MRI images and she will continue to be examined by specialists in Sweden, then she will have to wear a cast for a couple of weeks and undergo new examinations."
Sweden is in a bad position in the World Cup after the loss to Brazil and will probably have to defeat Norway on Wednesday to still have a reasonable chance of reaching the quarterfinals.
