Saif Abukeshek was arrested by Israel along with a Brazilian activist in international waters in an operation against the Gaza convoy Global Sumud Flotilla. Both the UN and Spain are demanding their release, but not Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard.

"Currently we are at such an early stage that we want to ensure his rights are respected here and now and that we are granted consular access, which we have been granted," says Minister of Foreign Affairs Maria Malmer Stenergard.

She says that other countries have made different assessments.

"It has not yet been made clear what he is accused of, and therefore it is difficult for us at this point to comment," says Malmer Stenergard.
