"It is with bottomless sorrow that we yesterday received the news from the police that many people have been killed and several have been injured in a school shooting in Örebro", says Kristersson in a press release.
"What must not happen has now happened. Today we are flying the flag at half-mast as the whole of Sweden gathers to support the affected – and in mourning over what has happened".
The flags will be at half-mast on Wednesday from 9 am.
The Royal Court has also announced that it will be flying the flag at half-mast on Wednesday. All royal palaces will be flying the flag at half-mast today, following a decision by the King.
The decision applies to the flags at the Royal Palace in Stockholm, Drottningholm Palace, Haga Palace, Rosersberg Palace, Ulriksdal Palace, Gripsholm Palace, Strömsholm Palace, Tullgarn Palace, and Rosendal Palace.
