Many Gävle residents had gathered when the goat was inaugurated for the 59th year in a row.
The trestle is 13 meters high. To build it, a truck full of straw and 600 meters of string were required. Around 1,000 working hours were spent on the construction.
Whether the Christmas goat will survive unscathed remains to be seen. It has lived a dangerous life over the years, including being burned down numerous times. One year, the goat was run over by a garbage truck, and in 2023, it was turned into bird food when hungry jackdaws discovered it.
