Last year, Håkan Juholt, Fröken Snusk and Jan Emanuel, among others, were locked in a suite in a skyscraper without having any idea what awaited them.
“Many cried”
This year, in addition to Katrin Zytomierska, Martina Haag and Marcus Schenkenberg, others are expected to create drama in "The Game".
"I didn't take it as seriously as it seems some others did. There were a lot of people who cried and got upset when they left," Schenkenberg says.
Katrin Zytomierska is one of them, she readily admits, but says she rather cried when someone else went out.
You lose yourself. We kind of sit and cry because someone has to leave after knowing each other for three days. You don't behave like you do in normal life, everything becomes very dramatic.
In last year's "The Game", the participants did not know that whoever was eliminated still got to continue playing, but from a different floor, something that also applies this year.
Already in the first episode, Schenkenberg is voted out and thus has to leave the suite for the "laundry room", a not particularly pleasant experience, he says.
There were no windows and only fluorescent lights on the ceiling, real hospital lights that came on at seven in the morning. It was a bit hard, but I knew I would end up somewhere and that there was a chance I could come back.
VIP lounge
New this year is that higher up in the skyscraper there is a “vip lounge”, where eliminated participants can also be sent. During the game, the different teams that are formed will then try to outplay each other.
Katrin Zytomierska says that she watched the entire first season before participating – and then decided on a strategy.
I wanted to show more of my soft side and went in with the attitude that “I’m not here to fight.” There are real fights in there, but I’m not that involved, she says.
However, she found herself in an unexpected situation. She and contestant Michael “Magic Mike” Koul found each other - according to several other contestants, on a romantic level.
The others thought it was as if we were in love and had a relationship inside. A very interesting chemistry develops between us. But we are not each other's type and nothing more came of it, says Zytomierska.
Twelve famous Swedes are isolated in a suite in a skyscraper and participate in a brutal social game with eliminations. "The Game" is a South Korean format and has also been launched in Norway and Denmark. The first season was won by Fröken Snusk.
