During tonight's semi-final, hosted by artist Oscar Zia and Per Lernström, the contestants sang a song chosen by the viewers. They also sang a song in tribute to someone who has been a hero to them – leading to many emotional moments on and off stage.
Nicolina-Mercedes Brandström received a standing ovation for her rendition of Simon & Garfunkel's "Bridge over troubled water." She dedicated the song to her father and spoke about the great support he had been to the family after the passing of her little brother Brandon.
Tuva Råwall sang Eva Cassidy's version of Sting's "Fields of Gold" to her mother Charlotte. Love Hedlund Stenmarck dedicated The Cinematic Orchestra's "To Build a Home" to her grandfather.
The Idol finale will be held at Filadelfia Church in Stockholm on December 6th.
