The scandal-ridden Mason Greenwood is on his way to Marseille.

Something that the club's supporters do not appreciate at all.

Now, the fans have started a hashtag campaign on social media against the recruitment.

"#GreenwoodNotWelcome"

This is the hashtag that is now circulating among Marseille fans on social media. The supporters are urging the leadership to abort the recruitment attempt of the notorious Englishman, and are expressing their discontent.

Video clips spread

It was in the beginning of 2022 that allegations of rape and assault emerged from his girlfriend. Several conversations, voice messages, and video clips spread where Greenwood was heard and seen being threatening and violent towards his girlfriend.

Greenwood was suspended indefinitely by Manchester United, and has not been welcome since then.

The investigation was, however, dropped after the girlfriend withdrew the allegations, despite the clips.

Returned last season

Last season, Greenwood returned to top football when he was loaned to Spanish Getafe in La Liga. A return that became a dividing issue in the football world, where some thought it was wrong and others that it was right.

After ten goals and six assists in the Spanish club, Greenwood is now attracting interest from other clubs that want to secure the Englishman's signature. One of those clubs is Marseille, which is said to be very close to the recruitment, according to The Guardian.
