The two stand-up comedians made their debut in the quiz show and went all the way to victory in "På spåret" on SVT after winning the final against Ina Lundström and Hanna Hellquist.
It's Hanna's credit! Hanna has prepared her whole life for this. And so I'm going along with it, says Kirsty Armstrong, and adds:
It feels like I'm filling in the gaps that Hanna doesn't have - which are maybe the normal gaps that normal people know. Like, who Madonna is.
Decided in Greenland
The competition was decided on the last trip when Kirsty Armstrong and Hanna Lublin Niklasson realized that Nuuk in Greenland was the final destination, while Ina Lundström and Hanna Hellquist guessed Reykjavik.
Greenland is the place on everyone's lips after Donald Trump's recent speech, but "På spåret" was already recorded last fall. So it was pure coincidence that the question came up, all while the participants may now appear less knowledgeable than they really are.
It feels like you could have done it earlier if it was now, says Kirsty Armstrong.
Yes, I know Ina said she had no idea about it when she pulled. There has been a bit more focus on it now, says Hanna Lublin Niklasson,
Comedian finalists
Since Ina Lundström also works in comedy, this means that three of the four finalists in "På spåret" are stand-up comedians. Some may not believe that comedians should be that smart. But Kirsty Armstrong rejects that prejudice.
I think a lot of comedians are generally educated, because you have to keep up with the news and what's going on around you to be able to joke about it and understand what everyone else is talking about. So I think you still stay up to date.
This spring, both "På spåret" winners will go on tour. Not together, though, as both have had solo shows planned for a long time. But if "På spåret" asks next season, they'd be happy to form a team again.
We don't like pressure, but if they want us, we'll definitely come back, says Hanna Lublin Niklasson.
