Romário has been a constant in Kalmar FF since December 27, 2012. But now it is clear that the Brazilian is leaving the club, after more than twelve years. At the turn of the year, his contract expired, and on the club's website, it is confirmed that there will be no new one.

"We have shared a long journey together and I want to thank all the supporters who have always supported and motivated me. It's not easy to think about the future right now after twelve years with this team. But that's life," he says to the club's website and continues:

"My heart will always burn for Kalmar FF. I am very grateful for what this team has meant to me and I will always follow and cheer you on from the stands. Thanks for everything, Kalmar FF!"

In total, it was 374 matches in the red jersey for Romário.

Kalmar FF was relegated from the top division last year and will play in Superettan next season.
