After a month of strained relations across the Atlantic, the EU's Foreign Affairs Chief Kaja Kallas is traveling to the USA on Tuesday to meet with Foreign Minister Marco Rubio.
It's good that we have as many meetings as possible with the new leadership. I'm traveling tomorrow to the USA to meet Marco Rubio and others. It's extremely important, says Kallas on her way into Monday's EU Foreign Ministers' meeting in Brussels.
At the same time, she is defending Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyj, who has been called a "dictator" by US President Donald Trump.
At first, I thought he made a mistake and mixed up the people. Putin and Russia haven't had (free) elections in 25 years. Zelenskyj is an elected leader, elected in free and fair elections, says Kallas.
