JANUARY

4/1 Ainbusk artist Marie Nilsson-Lind passes away, 62 years old.

5/1 Several of Fröken Snuusk and Rasmus Gozzi's songs are stopped on Spotify after suspicions of inflated listening figures through purchased streams. The songs are soon back and the artists deny the allegations.

12/1 "Love is blind" becomes the year's first big TV snack. One of the Netflix series' couples not only stays together, they have a child.

29/1 Arne Hegerfors passes away, 81 years old. The sports commentator later became a reliable program leader in entertainment TV in SVT programs such as "Kryzz" and "Det kommer mera".

FEBRUARY

17/2 Gunilla Persson competes in Melodifestivalen in Växjö, but misses the final. The morning after, the Bailiff's Office conducts a raid on her hotel. But the story takes a new turn when the debt is paid and the Hollywood woman gets her jewelry back.

27/2 "Shogun" premieres on Disney+ and becomes one of the year's most acclaimed TV series.

MARCH

1/3 Filip and Fredrik's "The Last Journey" has its cinema premiere. The story of Filip Hammar's father Lars' "last journey" to France becomes the year's most watched Swedish film and Sweden's Oscars bid.

10/3 Ryan Gosling makes a celebrated final appearance as Barbie's yearning boyfriend when he sings "I'm just Ken" at the Oscars.

29/3 Country is the trend of the year, which is confirmed when Beyoncé breaks new ground with the album "Cowboy Carter".

APRIL

11/4 "Baby reindeer" becomes the year's most shocking series. The Netflix drama about stalking and sexual abuse also gets a legal aftermath that spills over into 2025.

12/4 "A bar song (Tipsy)" is released. Statistically, Shaboozey's song is the year's biggest hit in Sweden. It tops Spotify's year-end list and stays at number one on Sverigetopplistan for twelve weeks.

MAY

3/5 Rap giants Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud and spit out hate and threats in several songs during a dramatic week.

7/5 Eric Saade creates controversy and receives criticism from SVT when he wears a Palestinian scarf around his wrist during his guest appearance in the Eurovision Song Contest semifinal in Malmö.

11/5 Strong protests against Israel's participation paralyze the Scanian capital and the Netherlands' artist is disqualified after being threatening backstage during the Eurovision Song Contest. Switzerland wins.

17/5 Stockholm is besieged by fans from near and far when Taylor Swift performs her first of three sold-out concerts at Friends Arena.

JUNE

4/6 Rapper C Gambino is shot dead in Gothenburg. He was 26 years old.

6/6 TV personality and diet guru Michael Mosley disappears during his vacation on a Greek island and is found dead a few days later.

29/6 The company has another strong year, but it's a bad day for Oliver Norqvist, who falls off a stage and breaks his arm during a concert in Örebro.
