The pictures of the raccoon in the liquor store in Ashland, USA, received international attention. After cleaning up the store and tasting the contents of the broken bottles, it stopped in a restroom.
Animal caretaker Samantha Martin, who was given the job of taking care of the lost animal, now reveals that the raccoon had previously entered a karate club and a motor vehicle authority and eaten snacks there.
"This appears to be his third burglary," she said of the liquor store incident, according to local media.
After sobering up, the raccoon was released into the surrounding area. More burglaries are likely to occur, according to Martin:
He is smart.
The story has been a boost for the city's animal shelter, which has raised over $200,000 through, among other things, shirt sales.
