The British rock band The Jam's drummer Rick Buckler has died. He fell asleep at home in Woking, Surrey after a period of illness, writes LA Times, which has obtained the information from posts on social media made by Buckler's agency.
The Jam was formed in 1975 and had its greatest successes with songs like "Town called malice" and "That's entertainment". The band was dissolved as early as 1982 after singer Paul Weller quit and instead formed The Style Council.
Drummer Rick Buckler became a furniture designer and spoken word poet. At the same time, he continued to have contact with The Jam's fans and also wrote a book about the band together with Zoe Howe. In a podcast interview in 2022, he said that "none of us were really any outstanding musicians".
