The garments primarily use so-called ZQ-certified wool, which means that the producer must take into account the well-being of the animals.

However, according to an investigation conducted by the animal rights organization Peta in New Zealand, the wool often comes from sheep that are subjected to kicks and beatings. The organization has secretly filmed footage on ZQ-certified sheep farms where sheep are seen being tortured and packed so tightly that they suffocate.

The evidence has been submitted to New Zealand's authorities with a request to investigate the incidents.

The companies that use the wool have not commented on the allegations.
