The script is based on the investigative book "Main basse sur le Louvre", written by three journalists from Le Parisien, Le Monde and Paris Match. The book will be released in bookstores on Wednesday.
The film rights to the book about the robbery on October 19, 2025, have been sold to the production company Iconoclast, the publisher Flammarion announces.
The film will be made by French director Romain Gavras. His main credits include the 2025 Hollywood film "Sacrifice" starring Anya Taylor-Joy, Charli XCX and Swedish artist Yung Lean, but neither the title nor the cast for the Louvre film has been finalized.
After seven months of investigation and despite the arrest of the main suspects, the jewels have not been found.
