We are lost and have painted ourselves into a corner. A new approach is required in today's political landscape, says federation chairman Rasmus Elfström to the newspaper.

The Centre Party is the only bourgeois party that has maintained its no to cooperation with the Sweden Democrats. The Centre Students, an independent federation within the Centre Movement, wants this stance to be reconsidered.

The Centre Party must have the courage to meet all parties in talks and negotiations. The Sweden Democrats are not a party like any other, but Sweden is a parliamentary democracy after all, and therefore we must have a more open attitude towards other parties, says Elfström.

According to the chairman, this also applies to the Left Party, while he emphasizes that neither the Sweden Democrats nor the Left Party are parties that the Centre Party should govern with.

They should not be in government. Their party representatives, but above all their policies, have shown time and time again.

The Centre Party leader Muharrem Demirok tells DN that the party will never open the door to "influence for the Sweden Democrats in a government constellation".
