The captain of the tanker Eagle S has requested to be exempt from the travel ban imposed by the district court in Finland at the beginning of January. On Friday, the Helsinki district court handled the application and the answer was no to a revocation.

The captain and eight other crew members will still have a travel ban, writes Hufvudstadsbladet.

The Central Criminal Police still suspect gross sabotage and suspected gross disruption of postal and telecommunications services in the case.

At the beginning of the week, information was published, among other things, in HBL that the Central Criminal Police had not yet found evidence that Eagle S intentionally sabotaged the cables.

But in a press release following the newspaper reports, the Central Criminal Police announced that the preliminary investigation is ongoing and will continue for months.
