"Big short" profile Michael Burry has started shorting AI companies Nvidia and Palantir, writes Business Insider.

Through hedge fund Scion Asset Management, he is said to have bought put options worth about $186 million in Nvidia and $912 million in Palantir in the last quarter. By shorting the shares, he makes money if the shares lose value.

Investor Michael Burry became famous for predicting the housing crash of 2008. In the film "The Big Short," Michael Burrys is played by Christian Bale.

Palantir, which reported after the market closed yesterday, fell 7 percent in US pre-market trading. Nvidia lost 2 percent in pre-market trading.
