The chaos erupted in connection with Galatasaray being awarded a penalty during Sunday's meeting with Adana Demirspor.
After Alvaro Morata scored the penalty for the Istanbul club, the visiting team left the pitch in protest against the referee's decision, and later it was announced that the match would not be completed on Sunday.
Our protest has nothing to do with Galatasaray. It is directed against the referees, said Adana Demirspor's chairman Metim Korkmaz to the Turkish press according to Expressen.
"You have really ruined Turkish football"
Then Galatasaray's big rival, Fenerbahce, decided to join in.
On X, the club launched a fierce attack on "Gala" and accused them of various things.
"With your illegal contracts, black market tickets, and illegal player advertisements, you deceive our state and the Turkish Football Association. With your players, who for years have engaged in dishonest behavior, you continue to mislead referees and supporters", wrote Fenerbahce and continued:
"Thanks to you, there is no trust or justice left. Yet, it's always you who are the innocent and victims. Congratulations, you have really ruined Turkish football".
"Jealousy"
Galatasaray's vice chairman later chose to respond to the accusations.
They are jealous because it won't be long before we become league champions again. They don't know what to do, he says according to VG.
When the match between Galatasaray and Adana Demirspor will be completed is still unclear.
