The artist I've always dreamed of becoming

The newcomer Greczula is the favorite to reach the final in Melodifestivalen. It was when "Believe me" came out that he realized the song was meant for the competition. I saw myself singing it on Melodifestivalen's stage – whether I wanted to or not, he says.

He opens the week's competition in Västerås with a number from the 1970s, with a white grand piano being lowered from the ceiling. The song "Believe me" flirts with music by artists such as Elton John, Queen, and David Bowie.

It's a confident Kristofer Greczula that the viewers will meet on Saturday: he will both sing standing on top of the piano and lying on the floor.

I feel that I am the artist now that I have always dreamed of becoming. Then again, not everything is finished with the number, we are fine-tuning some details. For example, there has been a last-minute change of clothes for safety reasons.

Participated in "Idol"

Kristofer Greczula grew up in Falkenberg and made the decision to focus wholeheartedly on music at an early age. It was close to him becoming a professional table tennis player, but after he applied to "Idol" in 2008, there was no turning back.

However, he was eliminated in favor of the favorite Johan Palm and never got to sing in the Friday finals.

I already felt on the spot in Stockholm that it wasn't my thing, so I'm actually glad I was eliminated. But I got to know many nice people who I still have contact with, so I don't regret anything, it was a good experience.

Over the years, Greczula has released several singles, including "You're not alone" for the organization Aldrig Ensam, and in 2022, his debut album "Live and let live" was released.

I dream big and have always known that it's music I want to work with. I've never had any other job. It has absolutely been tough in some periods, he says.

Participating in Melodifestivalen has not been an option until now.

It's a fantastic production, so it's clear that it has been in the back of my mind. But I would say that everything fell into place when the song was written. Without it, it wouldn't have been interesting.

Own style

Greczula is often seen wearing dresses and in an interview with QX recently, he says that he has always had his own style, with nail polish and tight, flared pants.

Didn't you think about wearing a dress in Melodifestivalen?

No, actually not. I dress in what I think fits the context, and just around this number, I wanted to feel free and be able to move as much as possible. I'll wear a dress on another occasion.
