The property at Brunnsviken north of Stockholm needs to be purchased urgently, the government says in the spring supplementary budget.
The premises will not be put up for sale on the open market and the price is expected to exceed market value, according to the government. Therefore, the Riksdag must approve the purchase.
The office complex, also known as Gate 01, was formerly SAS's headquarters.
The current headquarters of the Swedish Armed Forces on Lidingövägen is in need of extensive renovation and will need to be vacated. The goal is for the headquarters to be located at three addresses in the long term, according to Fastighetsvärlden: the new address at Frösundavik, on Lidingövägen and on Banérgatan at Gärdet.
