Since Friday, those who access the Swedish Public Employment Service's website have been met with an error message, and there is still no prognosis for when the problem will be resolved.
The problems affect all of the Swedish Public Employment Service's systems, and job seekers have not been able to contact the authority, register or deregister, or report that they have applied for a job. They have also not been able to hold scheduled meetings.
We have worked all night and now today to resolve the problems. Unfortunately, we have no prognosis, says the authority's press chief Hans G Larsson.
He cannot answer whether and if so how the support to job seekers will be affected by the error.
I cannot promise anything at present. We are in dialogue with the Swedish Social Insurance Agency and the unemployment insurance fund, which are also involved in the payment of support.
The error has been localized to the Swedish Public Employment Service's own technology, and it is not a matter of an external attack. Currently, only mobile phones are functioning.
We deeply regret this, it is an unfortunate situation, says Hans G Larsson.
Those who need to are urged to access the temporary website that exists, where information about the situation is being posted.
