Hans Klinga passed away on Sunday after a period of illness, 75 years old.
"Hans Klinga was an extremely skilled and multifaceted actor. He was both deeply unique and a true ensemble member. For several decades, he was part of Dramaten's permanent ensemble and he made a long list of unforgettable roles and was also active as a director", says Mattias Andersson, artistic leader and theatre manager for Dramaten, in a press release.
Actress Marie Göranzon remembers a dear colleague and friend. They played together for the first time in 1971 in a production about the Ådalen shootings. During the long-running production "Fanny and Alexander" at Dramaten, Hans Klinga played the role of Isac Jacobi for four years, while Marie Göranzon played grandmother Ekdahl.
He was humble in his greatness, she says.
Hans Klinga made his debut on the national stage in 1969 in the play "The Manager". In parallel with Dramaten, he was also engaged at, among others, the city theatres in Helsingborg and Uppsala.
Klinga also made a number of film and TV roles. Among other things, he played in the TV series "The Department Store", "The Shipping Company", "The Quartet that Blew Up" and "Somewhere in Sweden".
He also directed a number of productions at Dramaten as well as TV series such as "The Department Store", "Loose Relationships" and "Destination North Sea".
Hans Klinga is the father of actress Elin Klinga.
