This week, Slot announced that Alexander Isak might play "a couple of minutes" in Liverpool's FA Cup quarter-final. It all ended with Isak not in the squad and a 0-4 loss in Saturday's big game against Manchester City.
"We came to the conclusion that it was better for him to get a few more training sessions instead of just one or two," Slot told TNT Sport.
The Swedish national team striker has been out of action since December after a broken leg.
"I hope he is available on Wednesday, but today simply came too early for him," Slot said.
On Wednesday, Liverpool plays against Paris SG in the Champions League.
